Tekst achterflap
Step into the studio of Adeline Halot, Belgian artist, designer, and sculptor.
In this new publication, the artist opens us the doors to a suspended space. Fortyeight hours spent in her studio between two exhibitions—at Villa Empain in Brussels and the Fondazione Dries Van Noten in Venice—during which the work reveals itself as it is: in progress, open, at times uncertain.
The works appear differently: seen from behind, fragmented, captured in their reverses, their details, their gestures of making. Light passes through the metal, brushes against the linen, never settling. It emerges, then recedes. In its wake, shadows come into being.
Photographed on film, in the intimacy of the gesture, Adeline Halot’s creations reveal themselves through their rhythms, their hesitations, their silences, their sudden emergences.
This book offers a glimpse into this intimate space where work is constantly made and unmade. A raw, fragmentary vision—sometimes blurred, always alive.
