Tekst achterflap
Change requires more than intention. You need direction, rhythm, and systemic insight. In a world of acceleration, pressure, and complexity, traditional plans are losing their effectiveness. What you need today is systems logic: a thoughtful interplay of processes, structures, behaviours, and interactions — both external and internal. This book series offers a strategic change compass. No ready-made answers, but a practical framework to approach organisational challenges with meaning. You will learn to compose with human-, data-, IT- and process-oriented methods, aligned with governance, compliance, power, chaorde, sustainability, and GDPR. Within the KIM² model, conversation is not a side note, but a deliberate intervention. It makes change tangible by connecting communication, behaviour, and systems. The model places the customer as a system player at the centre and bridges thinking, feeling, and action across levels. KIM² transforms every conversation into a lever of change rather than a coincidence. The conversation cards bring language, rhythm, and calm into complex contexts. Like in this question: "What tensions do you feel in this change, and where do you believe the real causes lie?" You become the conductor of change: with a score in hand, and room for interpretation, alignment, and impact.
And ask yourself the question:
“What do I want to leave behind?”
When I began this book, I knew: it should not become a standard book on change. Not a collection of theories, but a composition. A story that touches, challenges, and flows with what you experience as a leader, professional, or human being.
That is why I dedicate this book to Queen Elisabeth of Belgium (1876–1965). Not only as a monarch, but as a woman who stayed close where others kept their distance. Who brought comfort to the bedsides of the wounded — at the Flemish Yser front. She embodies moral leadership in silence. That same strength inspired me in designing the KIM² conversation cards. Not standard questions, but small catalysts for big conversations. They help slow down where needed, speed up where things stall, and reconnect where relationships are at risk of breaking. In this way, every conversation becomes a turning point. The cards can be used in any context where dialogue matters — from team meetings to transformation, from reflection to conflict mediation. They give words to what is hard to express and create direction where resistance arises. In that same spirit, I asked conductor Rudolf Werthen, laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, to create a musical score. His music guides, clarifies, and connects. Let yourself be carried. By the story. The cards. The sounds.
