Tekst achterflap
Jerin van den Brink, a young man of Albanian-Dutch descent, full of passion,
passed away before his time from a rare disease, on the 5th of May
2018. Some of his works, sketches, poetry, and literary reviews on Albania
and the history, are being published as originally written in English or Albanian.
In her book Biri (translated from Albanian as ‘The Son’), dedicated
to the loss of her only child, the writer Flutura Açka, refers often to the texts
of her son. Written with love, thoughtfulness and maturity, they reveal his
talented world full of dreams, interrupted by his destiny.
‘[...] Jerin successfully completed the Middle Years Programme, most notably
with an exceptional Personal Project of such depth that it was hard to
credit this to a 15-year-old boy, as he was then. Only those who knew him
would realise that with Jerin, this level of intellectual thought was common
place.’ Glyn Jones, principal.
