It is not only Israel that comes into the prophetic focus, but the surrounding nations as well. In the book of Jeremiah, there is a separate collection of prophecies dedicated to the nations. In fiery language, these texts pronounce God's judgment on one nation after another, like a storm that sweeps across the world.
