Tekst achterflap

A gripping first-person account of Kilian Jornet's record-breaking Alpine Summits challenge, in which he summited 82 peaks in just 19 days.
Beyond Endurance, by Kilian Jornet - the Catalan professional long-distance trail runner and ski mountaineer widely considered one of the greatest of all time - is a first-person visual and written account of an extraordinary Alpine undertaking. In August-September 2024, Jornet made international headlines by summiting 82 peaks over 4,000 metres in just 19 days, smashing the previous record by three days and traversing the Alps at a pace never before achieved.
Set against glaciers and ridgelines undergoing rapid change, Beyond Endurance also serves as a powerful act of witness to the accelerating impact of climate change in the Alpine world. The result is a striking, human work that has already been praised in El País: 'Jornet captures the ethereal, the human, and the philosophical aspects of (...) his Homeric ride between glaciers and peaks, and offers reflections that no measured figure can resolve'.
